Chocobo Band | Final Fantasy Tribute | Official Website
Somnus / Apocalypsis Noctis (FFXV)
Somnus and Apocalypsis Noctis. The calm and the storm. Two conflicting souls, seemingly opposite, yet perfectly embodying the many facets of the wonderful and suggestive soundtrack of Final Fantasy XV. This song is our way of blending them together as one, as two sides of the same coin, as the tragic main characters Noctis and Lunafreya. But that is not all: this is also our heartfelt tribute to the legendary composer Yoko Shimomura, writer of soundtracks such as Kingdom Hearts, Parasite Eve or Xenoblade Chronicles, and of the beautiful songs heard during the troubled journey across the world of Eos. So, let there be light and rise from your slumber. However, you must not forget: as the night comes, the apocalypse will follow. Enjoy.
SHUFFLE OR GROOVY
CHOCOBO BAND DEBUT ALBUM IS OUT NOW
Shuffle or Groovy is the band's first record. It includes the most famous masterpieces from Final Fantasy soundtracks such as "Those Who Fight Further", "Cosmo Canyon" and many others rearranged in a unique way.
An original acoustic arrangement of 'The Skies Above' inspired by The Black Mages reinterpretation of 'To Zanarkand', one amongst the most beloved themes from Final Fantasy X and the entire saga. It's a tribute to the original song by Nobuo Uematsu to whom we all wanted to give this video on the occasion of his birthday. Hope you enjoy! The idea of a Final Fantasy tribute was born in 2007 when the musicians and Final Fantasy lovers Mike Pelillo, Gabriele Lei and Riccardo Barbieri went to Nobuo Uematsu's orchestral concert, a unique event in Italy. Almost as if it were a joke, these guys wondered about forming a tribute band to the composer's songs.
Three years later, that dream came true: the line-up became the same as "The Black Mages"' one with the drummer Alessandro Lugari, the other keyboard player Giacomo Ferrari and the other guitarist Salvatore Zappalà. The repertoire is made up of covers and interpretations of songs by "The Black Mages", but also of other famous Uematsu's compositions bound to the Final Fantasy saga. "Chocobo Band" decides then to include another member: the opera singer Beatrice Bini. Our show covers 2 hours, from the most famous melodies of the bestselling chapters of the saga to some songs devoted to real experts. We vary between instrumental and sung (by male and/or female voice) pieces. The feedback of our fans revealed to be excellent, both live and on the web.
